Voices of Detroit celebrates a milestone as we hit show #25 this time out. To make the accomplishment more noteworthy, hosts Larry Henry and David Benjamin welcome David Hall to the show. 

Yes, it is that David Hall that we all saw and heard for so many years on the Rock Financial radio and TV commercials.

 
Now David has started his own company called DHall Ventures.  We talk to David about that new enterprise, his days at Rock Financial and even about being one of the top amateur golfers in the state of Michigan!

David Hall David Hall is a senior level sales and marketing executive with over 13 years experience working with fortune 500 companies. 

Most recently, David spent the past eight years as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Quicken Loans' Michigan division, Rock Financial. Quicken Loans, the largest online mortgage lender in the United States, was recently voted the number 2 place to work in the U.S. by Fortune Magazine. 

David is widely recognized as a leading name in the sales and marketing field locally and nationally. As company spokesman David was largely responsible for establishing Rock Financial as Michigan's most recognizable company. Over the past 5 years David has been recognized in 2006 in Crains Business Magazine's coveted '40 under 40' list as well as awarded 'Speaker of the Year' by Michigan Meetings and Events Magazine. He was also nominated by Boy Scouts of America as 'Businessman of the Year' and spearheaded the 'Read to Achieve' program in conjunction with the NBA's Detroit Pistons. Between 1997-2002 David was cited in many mortgage banking publications as one of the top ten mortgage bankers in the nation (3 times) and consistently placed in the top 50 each year.  

From 2000 through 2007 David hosted the nationally syndicated radio program, "The Real Estate Insiders." The show became the number one real estate radio program in the nation reaching listeners in 35 cities across the country. Guests included Jim Cramer from CNBC, Linda Cohn from ESPN, Pat Croce (owner of the Philadelphia 76ers), mayoral candidates, leading economic experts, top legislators, social leaders and more.

In his personal life David is an avid sports fan and golfer. While attending the University of Michigan David was a member of the varsity Golf team. In 1995 he was the Amateur golfer of the year in the state of Michigan and one of the top 50 amateurs in the country. He maintains a scratch handicap today and still competes in events regularly.
